About Eschenbach Optik

Eight brands with strong personalities and nine Red Dot product design awards within the last three years prove it: Eschenbach Optik combines zeitgeist with reliable quality and inspired design.

Ranked among the top 10 in the optical industry worldwide, the German eyewear manufacturer has focused on vision and innovative strength since 1913. As a competence partner at eye level, the company focuses on service, expansion, and progress, is constantly developing and always on the move.

Almost 600 employees – around 300 of them in Germany – work for Eschenbach worldwide. Every day they work on magnifying glasses, electronic vision aids, special vision aids, binoculars, and on the modern eyewear collections, which always score with innovative technology and stylish design.

In 2019, a new era began for Eschenbach Optik – as the Nuremberg-based company moved its headquarters from its previous location in Schopenhauerstraße to “Auf AEG”, the urban creative space in Nuremberg’s west:

Eschenbach Optik GmbH | Fürther Straße 252 | 90429 Nuremberg

Since its foundation in 1913, Eschenbach Optik GmbH has stood for quality and progress. The move to the new location brought fresh impetus to technical innovations and fashion-affine designs.

The cultural magnet “Auf AEG” combines art, design, science and research in one place. Street art, poetry slams, digitalisation – the AEG site is bursting with ideas and creativity in a lively community.

In the modern loft office, Eschenbach Optik is breaking new ground characterised by creative co-working. At the same time, the company with more than one hundred years of experience remains true to itself: the competence partner for ophthalmic optics continues to place the greatest value on reliability and service.

With the introduction of the TITANFLEX brand, Eschenbach Optik revolutionised the eyewear market in 1988. The Nuremberg group of companies was the first to discover the benefits of this light and flexible material for eyewear frames and right up to the present day still occupies the leading market role in this sector.

Further contemporary brands such as HUMPHREY´S eyewear, BRENDEL eyewear, FREIGEIST, Jos. Eschenbach and fineline, are evidence of how this eyewear expert is also a trailblazer in the fields of fashion and style.

Prestigious licences, such as Marc O‘Polo Eyewear, round off the outstanding brand diversity, which has already been honoured with the Red Dot Award on numerous occasions. A further highlight was added in 2019 – the MINI EYEWEAR licensed brand.

Modernby tradition

When he established his wholesale business for optical products in 1913, Josef Eschenbach could hardly have imagined that his company would go on to achieve such resounding success. Today, the Nuremberg company is one of the top players in the areas of eyewear and optics throughout the world.
